Harford Park and Ride bus link A140 Ipswich Road bus Lane resurfacing closures.

Work began in September to carry out highway improvement works at the Harford Park and Ride site and Ipswich Road. The work is scheduled to last for approximately 13 weeks. It will involve the widening the of the Park and Ride exit lane and creating a new exit lane from the site to link onto a new bus lane on A140 Ipswich Road, between the site northbound to approximately 110m south of the traffic signals at Tesco superstore junction. Some narrowing/coning of the northbound lane near the Park and Ride site will be required to safely construct this new bus exit lane.

As part of this work, it is necessary to close A140 Ipswich Road between the A47 southern bypass roundabout to the Harford Tesco traffic signals for 5 nights between 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs from 17 to 21 November 2025 to enable resurfacing and carriageway line marking.

A signed diversion route will be in place in both directions using A146 Barrett Road/Daniels Road/Lakenham Road and A146 Loddon Road (Trowse bypass) and A47.

The County Council thanks people for their patience while this improvement work is carried out.

The work which will cost £700,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors.
